Audi A4 B6 2002-2008 Aftermarket Stereo Install

If you plan to replace or upgrade car stereo in the Audi A4, you first need to safely remove the old one. This tutorial uses Audi A4 1.8T (B6) 2002-2008.

How to remove the Audi A4 B6 Radio?

First disconnect the ground strap (red arrow) from the negative terminal of the battery (red arrow).

You will need to use a special radio removal tool to remove the radio without damaging the interior of the vehicle electronic equipment.

Insert four hook-shaped tools with the hooks facing inwards. The tool has four access slots (red arrows).

You will hear the clip snap into place and release the securing mechanism, then gently swing and pull the radio straight out (red arrow).

Remove the three wiring connections (red, yellow and green arrows) on the left side of the rear of the unit.

Remove the antenna and amplifier connections (red and yellow arrows).

How to installation new Audi A4 B6 car stereo?

Installation and disassembly are the opposite. Be sure to remove the tool before installation and slide the device into the dashboard until it locks into place.
